

Courington/Salome Win Fall Shootout
Jack Courington and Taylor Salome won
the 2022 Fall Shootout on the second
playoff hole. Elliot Soyez and Jeff Bell shot
rounds of 65-62 to finish at 15 under par.
After shooting a 1st Round 62, Max Lazzo
and Matt Lazzo birdied five of their last
six holes to tie Soyez and Bell at 15 under
par. Salome and Courington were on #18
tee sitting at 14 under par when both of
their tee shots found the fairway bunker.
Salome hit an 8 iron to ten feet where he
calmly stroked in the birdie putt to force a
three-way playoff with Soyez/Bell and
Lazzo/Lazzo. After all three teams made
par on #10, Courington sank a 20 foot
birdie putt on #11 to clinch the victory.
Steve Newman and Todd Bonewell won the Senior Division after firing an opening round 59. A late charge by AJ Jenkins and Ray Brundige, 63-61, left them 1 shot off the lead. Newman and Bonewell held on for the victory with a final round 64.

Cooper Schultz Wins City Medal Play
Cooper Schultz won his second City
Medal Play title at Crestview Country
Club's South Course. Schultz started
the tournament with a 7 under par 64
and closed with a 67 to finish at 11
under par. Blake Saffel and Austin
Goodrum both shot 68 in the final
round to finish in a tie for second
place at 4 under par.

Colby Hays Wins the City Junior
Colby Hays won the Auggie Navarro City Junior Championship with a two round total of 139, 3 under
par for the tournament. Noah Pirtle
finished in 2nd with a total of 145 and
Pearce Lashley finished in 3rd with a
total of 150.

Dave Oetken Wins Senior Championship in Playoff
Dave Oetken won his 1st City Senior
Championship in a 7-hole playoff
with Mike Casamento. Casamento too
k the 1st Round lead with a 2 under
par 70. Oetken started the final round
4 shots back after a opening round 74,
but closed with 68 to finish the
tournament at 2 under par. With
Oetken finishing well before
Casamento, word of Oetken's 68
reached him on the 16th tee and the
fact that he was now 3 shots behind.
Casamento preceded to make three
straight birdies to force a playoff.
In the playoff, both players made pars at holes #1-#4. Casamento laid up on the short par 4 5th hole while Oetken took driver at the green. Casamento's wedge stopped 15 feet from the hole, leaving him a putt that broke 1 foot, and Oetken's chip shot stopped just inside Casamento's ball. Both players made their birdie putts. After pars at #6, Oetken capped off the win with a 8 foot par putt on the 7th playoff hole.

Chapman & Gliege Win City Fourball
Tyler Chapman and Josh Gliege won
the City Fourball after a 5-hole
Playoff with Zach Sokolosky and Tate
Herrenbruck. Sokolosky and
Herrenbruck held a 3 shot lead going
into the final round at Wichita
Country Club. Chapman and Gliege
were able to force a sudden death
playoff after firing a 5 under par 66
on Sunday. Each team made par on
holes #1 through #4. Then Chapman
hit a wedge to 15 feet on the par 4 5th
hole and made the putt to clinch the
victory.

Ballard and Newman Win Senior Fourball
Charlie Ballard and Steve Newman
lead from start to finish in the 2022
City Senior Fourball. After blazing to a
lead in round 1 with a 9 under par 63
at Rolling Hills Country Club, they
maintained their lead the rest of the
tournament with a 1 under 70 in
Round 2. Ballard and Newman
increased their lead in the final round
with a 66 at Wichita Country Club.
Results

Charlie Stevens Wins 2022 Match Play
Charlie Stevens and Derek Harrison
advanced to the City Match Play final on
Sunday afternoon. Harrison held a 1 up lead
going into the par 5 #17. Harrison wedged
his third shot to a couple of inches for a
conceded birdie. Stevens followed that by
sinking a 40-foot eagle putt to push
the match to All Square with one hole to
play. After halving the 18th with pars, the
two went to the first extra hole; the 220 yard
par 3 1st hole. Harrison narrowly missed his
8 foot par putt giving Stevens the chance for
his first Match Play Title with a par. After
chipping to 4 feet from just off the green,
Stevens knocked in his putt for par to clinch
the victory.
Drew Chamberlin defeated JR Morgan to
win the 1st Flight bracket.
